HURRICANE IKE!

This past weekend, we faced reality in a hard way. It has been quite an active year for hurricane's, each time one comes close the media has you freaked out for the worse. Well this time it came! Luckily our community only had fallen trees, but we did loose the steeple of our chuch building. We had no power for 12 hours and then it went off again after 8 hours until the next morning. I am in charge of the Emergency Preparedess for our ward at church, so I have been busy these last few months being a good example and making sure I have a good food supply, mastered bread making and had 72 hour kits in place. I was told from past experience that stores have a hard time getting back to stocked shelves after a hurricane. So I went to Walmart today and sure enough it looked very empty. I am thankful that we are safe and were taught about the importance of being prepared!

I am glad you are safe too. With the move I haven't located everyone's contact info (in otherwords I am still unpacking) so was hoping to see how you guys were. My sister had some damage to her roof (minor) but her neighbors had trees fall on their homes. I am so glad you are safe and were prepared.

I am also glad that you guys are safe. It's awesome that you were prepared I am sure there are some that weren't. Jerry said they pretty much got a big storm his way, but it sounds like it would have been pretty scary.
